Amethyst is the traditional birthstone of February. It is the beautiful purple color variety of Quartz. It gets its name from the Greek word "ametystos', which means "without intoxication". The old story goes that if you drink from an Amethsyt glass you will not get drunk.
Did you know that Amethyst was once considered equal to Emeralds, Rubies and Sapphires? It was placed in many religious jewelry and crown jewels. It has been used for 1000’s of years.
Elizabeth Pings has been working with and studying gems for many years. She has studied at the Gemological Institute of America in Thailand and there earned her title as a Gemologist. She is also a member of The Artisan Group and the American Gem Trade Association. She is devoted to the genuine gem stone and representing her creations with integrity and honesty.
The Artisan Group, will be presenting Nature's Splendour's original earrings to the celebrities at the Country Music Awards. In preperation for this even, Elizabeth has wire-wrapped over 2000 gemstones individually. It is with great care and attention to detail that she works only the finest gemstones along with Sterling Silver or Gold wire. The final creations are hand made originals of spectacular beauty.
